Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno Expanding
to 2,234 Rooms
RENO, Nev., June 18, 1999 -  The Peppermill Hotel Casino is in the middle of the first phase of a three phase $300 million expansion that when completed, will make the Peppermill the largest hotel casino in northern Nevada.

With the recent acquisitions of an adjacent 12-acre movie theater complex, a restaurant and a motel the Peppermill now has 40 contiguous acres and 1,500 linear feet frontage on Virginia Street, Reno’s main street.  The purchases have allowed the Peppermill to design a masterplan to maximize the potential of this property that began as a small coffee shop 28 years ago. This masterplan will complete a consistent architectural style throughout the resort.  The Peppermill Hotel Casino currently has 1,070 rooms and 185 Jacuzzi suites—that’s more suites than any other northern Nevada property—six restaurants and nine themed lounges.

Phase I is a $65 million project and it will open in November. See accompanying detailed fact sheet.  When the final two phases of the $300 million expansion are finished, the resort will encompass 2,234 rooms; eight themed restaurants; 10 themed bars and lounges; 125,000 square feet of flexible, dynamic convention and special event space; greatly expanded resort pool and spa; fashionable retail shops; two outdoor water fountain features, a six-lane, 25,000 square foot Porte Cochere and two beautifully landscaped parking garages. The casino will continue to take center stage with excitement all around. No matter where you are, playing slots or table games, you’re in the heart of the entertainment.

The Peppermill has had unprecedented growth and is coming off of its best year ever. Trends continue to be strong and double-digit growth is continuing during the expansion. “We’re not just adding gaming devices, we’re creating an entirely new venue and entertainment experience for northern Nevada. Our guests will experience not only superstar entertainment in our Concert Hall, but will experience interactive entertainment in our casino and
restaurants, 365 days a year. Our continuous and entertaining special effects shows throughout the casino and restaurants have been designed by some of Hollywood’s top special effects experts,” said General Manager Tracy Mimno.

The Peppermill will be an all-encompassing destination resort designed to provide an exceptional entertainment experience for everyone.
