Vail Valley Tourism & Convention Bureau  Signs on with HotelTraining.com for Reservation Agent
Sales Training

Fort Worth, TX April 20, 1999 - HotelTraining.com introduced the first reservation sales training program designed specifically for delivery via the Internet in June 1998.   Since that date, the company has provided training primarily to individual hotel clients.  Recently the companys client base was expanded to include reservations centers when the Vail Valley Tourism & Convention Bureau subscribed to the companys STAR training workshop.

Katie Barnes of the Vail Valley Tourism & Convention Bureau said, our agents response to the STAR Workshop has been very positive!  Ms. Barnes then went on to offer some examples of agent comments.  Very helpful for improving my phone skills, it helped me to make reservations in a more efficient way with a smile,  I learned about sales skills in general, it applied well to exactly what we do as reservations agents.  I feel I have brought a lot of the skills into my conversations with the callers.

The interactive Internet delivery of the STAR (Sales Training for Agents in Reservations) Workshop is more effective and less expensive than traditional seminar style training programs.   The workshop teaches agents to sell a reservation using an easy and enjoyable interactive format that includes both text and audio as well as providing instant feedback on both correct and incorrect quiz and test answers. In addition to being able to track the progress and performance of the individual agents as they go through the workshop, HotelTraining.com also conducts monthly recorded quality assurance shopping calls with written follow-up evaluations that are  E-mailed to the Vail Valley Tourism & Convention Bureau.

The traditional on-site reservations training seminars have become too expensive for most hotels and reservations centers when you consider the employee turn over rate in reservations, said Jay Delerno, President of HotelTraining.com.  Moreover, traditional seminar training, costing thousands of dollars, is inefficient and over time often ineffective.  He went on to say, On-site training is a one-time event.  With access to Internet Based Training, employees can access our STAR Workshop 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  They can work at their own pace and revisit our training program as frequently as they wish.

HotelTraining.com also develops password restricted private label and custom training programs for its clients.  These programs are then hosted on the HotelTraining.com server.  A free sampling of the STAR Workshop is available on their website, www.hoteltraining.com.  In July of this year, a Guest Services Workshop will become available.   To experience both workshops visit the HotelTraining.com booth number 1723 at the HITEC show in Atlanta in June.
