TARRYTOWN, NY (March 19, 1999). -- Tarrytown House, a leading
conference hotel owned and managed by Dolce International, will begin a
$10.5 million dollar expansion this Fall adding a new lobby/registration
area and 73 new guest rooms and suites, increasing the total room count
to 212. Explains Andy Dolce, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dolce
International, Our expansion will accomplish two critical goals. First,
it will enable the property to accommodate larger meetings by providing
the number of guest rooms appropriate to our 30,000-square-feet of meeting
space. Secondly, by connecting the lobby with our guest room buildings,
we will provide guests with an enclosed route to their guest rooms after
check-in, a huge advantage during inclement weather. We have been eager
to move forward with this expansion since our purchase of Tarrytown House
in July 1997 and are delighted to see the project come to fruition.
The
expansion, a collaboration between Princeton-based Architectural Design
Collaborative, P.C. and Dennis Noskin Architects, will begin this summer
with limited site work leading up to the official ground breaking in November.
The new lobby, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, will connect the King
House, a stately, Georgian-style mansion, and the guest room buildings.
It will feature beautiful views of the Rose Garden, relocated behind the
lobby, and the Hudson River. Putnam House, the new guest wing, will complete
the quadrangle housing the existing guest rooms and will include a presidential
suite and numerous junior suites not presently available at the property.
All suites will feature balconies offering lovely vistas of the Hudson
River and the village of Tarrytown.
Continues Assistant General Manager, Chris Dolce, The expansion will
also enlarge our restaurant, The Winter Palace, by adding 50 seats. Alleviating
a long-time operations challenge, 63 new parking spaces will be added throughout
the property.
Managed by Dolce International since 1994 and purchased by the company
in July 1997, Tarrytown House currently offers 148 guest rooms and is less
than an hour from all three major New York Airports and Manhattan. The
property is widely recognized as one of the leading conference hotels in
the country having won Successful Meetings Pinnacle Award for two consecutive
years, honoring outstanding conference facilities in the United States.
Dolce International, the global leader in learning through meetings
