Los Angeles , March 1, 1999: The new Luxe Hospitality
Corporation, recently formed by real estate developer and hotel owner,
Efrem Harkham, to provide reservation and marketing services to select
independent hotels, announced the appointment of Michael Rubin
as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
Mr. Rubin, who has broad marketing and sales experience in hospitality
and fashion, joins Luxe Hospitality from a twelve-year stint with the Los
Angeles Times. In that capacity, Mr. Rubin managed domestic and international
sales staffs with annual billings of over $11 million and developed new
revenue sources for the Los Angeles Times, including innovative magazines,
special advertising sections and affinity-related advertising and marketing
opportunities. His client relationships spanned the retail, fashion and
travel industries, including companies such as Saks Fifth Avenue,
Neiman Marcus, The Gap, Tiffany, Armani, Gucci, Cathay Pacific, Northwest
Airlines, Air New Zealand, ANA, JAL and Singapore Airlines.
During his career at the Los Angeles Times, Mr. Rubin won numerous awards
for outstanding performance, teamwork and leadership. Rubin is also a graduate
of the Center for Creative Leadership Looking Glass Program.
