Vancouver, B.C. (Jan.05. 1999) � Toronto-based Vinings Franchise
Systems (VFS) and Telerent of Canada have entered into a strategic alliance
in the hospitality industry. VFS, Master Licensee of Microtel Inn
& Suites, Canada has selected Telerent to develop and implement a leasing
program designed to accommodate Canadian Microtels unique room design,
helping Franchisees and Owners. Telerent has also been selected by VFS
to be the main supplier of furnishings and equipment to their properties
in Canada.
According to Klaus J. Henck, president and chief operating officer of VFS, Microtel Inn & Suites is the fastest growing chain of all newly constructed, inside corridor, budget hotels in North America. VFS is planning to develop 25 properties per year across Canada and the alliance with Telerent provides for customizing a: �Simple and competitive leasing and supply package� no other company has been able to provide to VFS� As of December 1998 there were 170 Microtels open or under construction, and an additional 383 under development in North America for a total of 553 hotels. Bob Duncan of Telerent comments that this alliance has been a great
boost to Telerent�s expansion into Canada, since they are completing their
first full year of operation. This agreement has been designed to provide
competitive rates and outstanding customer service and this rewarding
association will benefit all Microtel Inn & Suites Franchisee.
