Honolulu, Hawaii, USA January 4, 1998 - Effective February
1, 1999, Outrigger Hotels & Resorts assumes primary management responsibilities
for the condominium resort Lae nani located on the beach at Wailua, Kauai.
Outrigger will take over from Village Resorts the management of the Lae
nani's homeowner's association, as well as administer the resort's rental
program.
Lae nani will be Outrigger's seventh condominium in Hawaii and its
second on the island of Kauai. It joins Kiahuna Plantation at Poipu on
Kauai; Kanaloa at Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii; The Palms at Wailea,
Napili Shores and Maui Eldorado Resort on Maui; and The Waikiki Shore on
Oahu.
"Lae nani is a first-class property that will quickly become a favorite
with our guests," said Bryon
Hodge, Outrigger's vice president, condominium resort division. "It's central
location, lush grounds, beachfront setting and quality amenities make it
an ideal addition to Outrigger's family of quality resort condominiums."
Lae nani offers 82 units in five low-rise buildings located in a beachfront
setting along Kauai's Coconut Coast. Just seven miles from the island's
main Lihue Airport, Lae nani offers spacious one- and two-bedroom units
with all the comforts of home. Each is attractively decorated and comes
with a private lanai, ceiling fans, color TV, iron and ironing board, direct
dial telephones, daily housekeeping service and a fully-equipped kitchen
complete with microwave oven, full-size refrigerator, cooking and eating
utensils.
Guests can enjoy the resorts spacious grounds, lush landscaping, oceanfront
pool, barbecue area, tennis court and beautiful sand beach. There is also
a lava rock protected swimming area that is ideal for children. Adjacent
to this area are remnants of the Kukui Heiau, which is more than
500 years old. In ancient times, Hawaiians built signal fires in
the heiau to guide canoes voyaging between the islands to the safety of
Wailua.
The neighboring Coconut Plantation market Place is within easy walking
distance of the property and offers over 70 shops and restaurants. Kapaa
town is a short drive away, as is the 18-hole Wailua golf course.
"Lae nani's central location on the island's east coast makes it an
ideal home base from which to explore all that Kauai has to offer," Hodge
said.
