Paris, 18 January 1999 � The International Hotel & Restaurant
Association (IH&RA) is recruiting to fill the position of CEO when
current chief executive, Ken Hine, retires in June 1999.
The CEO is charged with providing the overall vision and strategy to
drive the association forward, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations
of the IH&RA. Based in Paris, the CEO reports directly to the
President of IH&RA, the Executive Committee and the IH&RA Board.
Responsibilities include developing membership across the board, in
particular building relations with national hospitality associations, international
operators and chains to strengthen the IH&RA�s position as a major
global hospitality forum. Building the presence of the food service sector
within the association will also be a priority, together with implementation
of a creative marketing strategy, expansion of the strategic partner programme,
�Worldwide Partners� and development of the IH&RA product and service
portfolio.
Said Ken Hine, �The position is a dynamic and challenging one which
I have relished for the past two years. I now think it�s time to
hand over the reins as the IH&RA enters a new phase of growth and development.�
Hine, previously chief executive of the American Hotel & Motel Association,
will be retiring after a 30-year career in hospitality association management.
