AH&MA Appoints WorldRes to Provide State Associations with Turn-key
Statewide Reservation Solutions

SAN MATEO, CA, February 23The American Hotel & Motel Association (AH&MA) has endorsed Silicon Valley-based WorldRes as its exclusive electronic distribution platform, and has entered into an agreement that will provide each member state association with a turn-key statewide reservation solution at a substantially reduced fee. The program allows the member state associations to earn extra revenue and increase property membership by offering real-time confirmed lodging reservations through existing state association web sites and a centralized call center.

"We endorsed WorldRes because they have what we consider to be the leading e-commerce platform for lodging properties and destination marketing organizations," said AH&MA Senior Vice President Michael Gehrisch. "With Internet bookings expected to exceed $3 billion by 2002, WorldRes provides our member state associations and lodging properties with the best opportunity to take advantage of this predicted growth."

"E-commerce is changing the face of business, and this outstanding endorsement is significant recognition of the important central role WorldRes plays in the burgeoning online travel industry," commented Greg Jones, CEO of WorldRes. "Our business-to-business application places us in the middle of the fastest growing segment of the Web, enabling both hotels and online commerce partners to profit."

WorldRes offers web-based partners a turnkey product that generates revenue through lodging reservations. Partners receive their own web interface to the WorldRes system, enabling them to allow their consumers to make real-time confirmed reservations online at over 7,000 hotels, bed and breakfasts and resorts worldwide. WorldRes works with a wide variety of e-businesses, such as web portals, travel sites, destination web sites and call centers, activity partners, online guides and others. WorldRes currently processes reservations through over 400 web-based sources, including Yahoo!, AOL, Lycos, Places To Stay, the British Tourist Authority, Vail Resorts, Southwestern Bell SMART Pages and Match.Com.
