the "Village Ivoire" operated by Inter*Continental Hotels & Resorts
in Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire, will undergo a comprehensive US $ 60 million
renovation.
The final contract was signed on January 22, 1999 by the Ivorian
Minister of Economy & Finance H.E. Niamien N'Goran and the President
of Inter*Continental Hotels Africa and Middle East, Raymond Khalife.
Over the years this prestigious property was host to many International
Conferences and numerous celebrities, including Kings, Presidents,
Ministers, Industry Leaders and many stars of all Continents.
Said Roger Kacou Vice President Operations for West & Central Africa;
"The renovation is planned to start during the last quarter of 1999 and
involves all guest rooms, public areas and meeting facilities including,
the Palais de Congres which can cater to over 2000 guests. Furthermore
guest rooms will be equipped with the latest "office away-from-the-office"
hi-technology inventions, including, internet connection, message phones,
video check-out system, refreshment center, room safe and multi channel
TV sets"
