ATLANTA, Ga., Feb. 11, 1999 � In the 10 months since U.S.
Franchise Systems (Nasdaq: USFS) acquired the mid-level economy Best Inns
& Suites chain, the Company has expanded the brand to 223 hotels open
or in development, compared to the 38 hotels open or in development in
April of 1998. In addition, Best recently recorded a milestone with
the opening of the 50th Best Inns & Suites in Baltimore, Md., and signed
an alliance with California-based Meyer Motels to convert 13 hotels in
the western U.S. to Best Inns. Meyer Motels will also be opening
a newly constructed Best Inns & Suites located in Paradise, Calif.
in April.

The 50th Best Inns & Suites in Baltimore Located at 5701 Baltimore National Pike in historic Baltimore, Md.,
the 50th Best Inns & Suites is owned and managed by Ramji-Kripa, Inc.
The 145-room property offers single, double and suite accommodations and
cable television with ESPN, CNN and free HBO, an outdoor pool, indoor heated
whirlpool, guest laundry, and meeting and banquet facilities. It
is within 10 miles of such local attractions as Oriole Park, Inner Harbor,
John Hopkins University, Raven Stadium and downtown Baltimore. It
is the third Best Inns & Suites to open in Maryland.
