Houston TX - October 13, 1998 - The hospitality merger frenzy
over the past 2 years has resulted in new business models requiring increased
operational efficiencies, restructured customer strategies, and a host
of marketing driven technology solutions. Hospitality information technology
(IT) is being driven to meet these requirements plus consolidate disparate
systems and support rapid organizational change.
To help meet these new challenges, Ernst & Young, along with The
Technology Research and Education Center (TREC) at the Conrad
Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management of the University of
Houston, and the Hospitality Information Technology Association
are co-sponsoring a think tank titled "Vision IT". This round table symposium
will focus on the how the IT process has delivered and could better deliver
value to hotels and hotel companies. The think tank will be held October
26, 1998 at the University of Houstons Conrad Hilton College.
The power of this landmark program is in having top hospitality IT leaders
review traditional IT thinking and explore new paradigms to address the
current and future business environment and customer demands. Participants
in this landmark think tank should come away with a sense of having enhanced
their views of hospitality IT and of having made an impact on the future
of technology in the hospitality industry. |
