| HOUSTON - Oct 8, 1998 - The Hospitality Industry Hall of
Honor inducted industry legends Walt Disney, Barron Hilton and J. Willard
Marriott, Jr. as it 1998 honorees on September 30, 1998, marking the third
annual ceremony of this unique Hall of Honor.
Master of Ceremony for the historic event was Herman Cain, President
and CEO of the National Restaurant Association. Also officiating
were William Fisher, President and CEO of the American Hotel & Motel
Association and William Norman, President and CEO of the Travel Industry
Association.
The Hospitality Industry Hall of Honor and Archives are located in the
University of Houston�s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant
Management. Within the complex are displays and memorabilia
related to the life, career, and accomplishments of each inductee.
Previous inductees include: Conrad Hilton, J. Willard Marriott,
Sr., Kemmons Wilson, Curtis Carlson, Lord Charles Forte, Ray Kroc and Ellsworth
