Adam F. Suapaia Named National Sales Manager at  The Ilikai / Hotel Nikko Waikiki
 
Honolulu, HI (Dec. 1, 1998) - Adam F. Suapaia, Jr. has been appointed national sales manager at The Ilikai Hotel Nikko Waikiki. His responsibilities include corporate sales across the United States and Hawaii. In this capacity, Suapaia's goals are to establish and  cement relationships with individual corporate customers. 

"Rooms sell themselves if you establish a personal relationship with your clients," explains Suapaia. "Our customers become friends if we ensure they have a good experience at a fair price." 

Most recently Suapaia served as director of catering at The Ilikai / Hotel Nikko Waikiki, where he was responsible for all facets of catering administration, including sales and marketing. 

His hospitality career began at the Kahala Hilton Hotel as a restaurant/showroom manager in 1972. He has also served as food and beverage  manager at the Royal Hawaiian Country Club, and sales and marketing director at the Luana Hills Country Club. 

Suapaia played professional minor league baseball with the San Francisco Giants organization in the mid-1960s, immediately after serving three years in the Army. 

Suapaia was born and raised in Honolulu, and lives with his wife and three children in Hawaii Kai. 

The Ilikai/Hotel Nikko Waikiki, where Waikiki Beach begins, was built in 1962. The 800-room resort joined the Nikko Hotels International management family in 1991. Nikko Hotels International currently manages 51 hotels worldwide, with locations in Europe, Asia, Oceania, the Pacific, Japan and North America. Hotel Nikko USA Inc. is the management group for the company's six North American luxury. hotels located in Hawaii, New York, California and Mexico City.
