John Riley has joined the hotel staff as Controller. Formerly with Southpark Suite Hotel in Charlotte, Riley has been affiliated with Destination Hotels and Resorts for six years.

Steve Schopf  has been appointed Director of Sales. Schopf has been affiliated with Destination Resorts and Hotels for more than five years, most recently with The Oakbrook Hills Hotel & Resort in Illinois.

Nancy Sedgwick has been promoted to Assistant Director of Catering. Prior to her promotion, Sedgwick served the hotel as a Catering Sales Manager for more than six years.

Lezlie Tyler has been appointed Director of Group Sales. Prior to joining The Washington Monarch Hotel, Tyler served as Associate Director of Sales at the Radisson Plaza Hotel at Mark Center.

Shana Albright joins the hotel as Sales Manager. Albright previously served The Suissehotel Washington Watergate.

Nellie Mikasinovich also joins the hotel as Sales Manager. Mikasinovich was previously a Sales Manager with The Luxury Collection.

Kristin Phillips and Joe Nahas were both promoted to Executive Meetings Managers. Phillips and Nahas have been Marketing Assistants at The Washington Monarch Hotel for the past year.

Sybil Bowick was recently promoted to Conference Services Manager. Bowick has been with The Washington Monarch Hotel for two years, serving the Marketing Division in Reservations and Sales.

Chiaki Adams, Concierge, was recently inducted into Les Clefs d'Or, an exclusive international association of hotel concierges. Adams is the third member of the hotel's Concierge staff to be recognized by this prestigious organization.
