Dolce International Acquires Hôtel du Domaine de Chantilly Outside Paris

MONTVALE, NEW JERSEY (November 30, 1998). The leading global conference center company, Dolce International, in partnership with Boston-based AEW Capital Management has acquired Hôtel du Domaine de Chantilly, a 111-room conference hotel with an 18-hole golf course just 25 minutes from Charles DeGaulle International Airport and 30 minutes from Paris. It is the fifth conference center acquisition by Dolce/AEW, L.P., formed in August 1997.

Said Andrew Dolce, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dolce International, The acquisition of Chantilly fulfills two important company objectives; to grow the conference center concept in Europe and to provide our multinational, Fortune 1000 clientele with a dedicated conference resort near Paris. We are investing $3.6 million to renovate the property with particular attention to the guest rooms, lobby and meeting rooms. We are also reviewing the opportunity to expand the facility to 200 rooms plus add an extensive new conference wing.

Formerly called Blue/Green Golf Hotel in the Chantilly region, Hôtel du Domaine de Chantilly has already begun this renovation project. It is scheduled for completion in April 1999.

Just one half-hour outside of Paris, the property is located in the renown Domaine de Chantilly, the famous horse country of France and home of the Museum de Chantilly, a chateau and royal stables used by the Henry dOrleans, Duc dAumale. Just a five-minute drive from the hotel and golf resort, the Museum de Chantilly is filled with the works of Raphael, Poussin, Delacroix, and Ingres. It houses the second largest private art collection in France.  Hôtel du Domaine de Chantilly manages the food operations at the chateau and has full catering privileges for private group events in this magnificent setting.

Dolce/AEW, L.P. is also owner of Frégate, a four-star conference hotel and golf resort in Provence. Overlooking the Mediterranean, Frégate is also amidst a renovation adding 33 resort guest suites and additional meeting space. In keeping with its goal of aggressive European expansion, Dolce/AEW, L.P.  is also in the process of acquiring another property in The Netherlands.

Dolce International, the global leader in learning through meetings and leisure, represents a growing portfolio of conference hotels, conference resorts and private/corporate centers in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
