December 22, 1998 - The Greater Buffalo Convention
& Visitors Bureau introduces the Canadian At Par in Buffalo -- a program
thats designed to benefit both Canadian visitors and the Buffalo area
hospitality industry.
The CVB has secured the participation of a variety of local Buffalo area attractions and accommodations who have agreed to accept Canadian currency at par from January 2 to February 28, 1999. The result is an affordable Buffalo stay for Canadian visitors and increased business for local merchants during traditionally quieter winter months. The CVB recognizes a strong Canadian interest in New York State as a tourism destination, said John Oliver, CVB vice president, tourism. By designing the Canadian at Par in Buffalo campaign, we are making it easier for families from north of the border to extend their stay in our area after enjoying such activities as a day on the slopes or a favorite sporting event. Participating accommodations, located throughout the Greater Buffalo area, include choices from inexpensive hotel accommodations priced at less than $30 per night to elegant five-room suites. The list of attractions features a wide range of historic, educational, and entertainment options for families and visitors of all ages and interests. |
