at Patriot American Hospitality, Inc

DALLAS, Sept. 3, 1998 -  Patriot American Hospitality, Inc. (NYSE: PAH), whose shares are paired and trade with those of Wyndham International, Inc., today announced the appointment of Jay Litt as senior vice president-procurement.

Mr. Litt joins the company from his most recent position as senior vice president-operations at Interstate Hotels Company, which Patriot American acquired last June. In his new position, Mr. Litt serves as the senior procurement officer for both Patriot American and Wyndham International, supervising all purchasing processes while directing the companies' new cost containment efforts available after integrating more than five major corporate acquisitions in the past year. In addition, Mr. Litt serves as the operating committee chairman of Don Shula's Steakhouses, Inc., a joint venture in which Patriot American recently acquired a 49% interest and which will become Patriot's signature food and beverage amenity.

Mr. Litt brings more than 27 years of hotel industry experience to his new position with Patriot
American/Wyndham International. During his seven years' tenure at Interstate Hotels, Mr. Litt served initially as general manager of the Brickell Point Sheraton in Miami, then was promoted to regional vice president and, subsequently, senior vice president of operations. He joined Interstate from his six-year post as president of RJF  Hotels, Inc., a private management and consulting company.

For the 12 years prior, he worked in a variety of hotel management positions with The Sheraton Corporation of America. Mr. Litt earned his Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Florida International University in Miami and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa.

"We expect to enjoy significant economies of scale by virtue of the companies we've acquired over the past year. As such, we wanted to ensure that we hired a professional with a thorough understanding of hotel operations and purchasing so as to realize these savings in a more expeditious fashion, as well as to guide our purchasing programs in the future. Jay's background is characterized by excellence and achievement, and we are honored to have him join us as our senior procurement officer," said James D. Carreker, chairman and chief executive officer of Wyndham International.
