Cincinnati's Omni Netherland to Install
LodgingTouch Property Management System
---
IRVINE, Calif-July 14, 1998--MAI Hospitality, a division of MAI Systems Corp. (ASE:NOW), Tuesday announced a formalized agreement with Omni Hotels to install its leading-edge, Windows NT(R), client-server, LodgingTouch(TM) Property Management System (PMS) at the Omni Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati.

This event marks the first Omni Hotels franchise hotel to take part in Omni's multi-million dollar Property Management System, Central Reservations and Revenue Management System automation project. To date, 21 Omni Hotels properties have selected the LodgingTouch system.  The system is already in use at five properties, while three properties have installed the newly-developed two-way, fully-integrated, seamless OmniRez Central Reservation System interface.

The LodgingTouch(TM) Property Management System (PMS) is a Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) engineered, true 32 bit architectured, ODBC-compliant, client server solution.  This fully-integrated, upwardly scaleable PMS solution offers modules for front office, group sales, guest history, accounts receiveable, travel agency, central reservations and point-of-sale.  LodgingTouch received the 1997 Microsoft(R) Retail Applications Developer (RAD) Award for enterprise property management systems.

"Omni Hotels' long-term business plan calls for maximizing revenues and building customer loyalty," said Jim Caldwell, Omni Hotels president.  "To accomplish this goal, we must focus on creating a dynamic service culture and leveraging technology to help us achieve higher levels of service excellence while maximizing revenue."

"Omni Hotels' choice to implement MAI Hospitality's Windows-based LodgingTouch PMS is a big win for Microsoft," said Stan Julien, hospitality industry marketing manager for Microsoft Corp.  "It is great to see a recognized market leader, such as MAI Hospitality, embrace the Microsoft BackOffice platform to create a powerful, cost-effective, enterprise-wide solution for Omni properties."

LodgingTouch utilizes a Microsoft SQL Server(R) database which provides a seamless flow of information between Microsoft applications, enabling critical data to be exchanged quickly and effortlessly.  "The ability for hoteliers to simply glean information from the database and manipulate it for strategic planning, analysis and reporting purposes is key to the success of LodgingTouch," stated Rick Clemons, director of Marketing, MAI Hospitality.  "The simplicity by which information is exchanged between the PMS and other information technologies running on a SQL Server database enhances hotel revenue objectives and allows them to be more productive."
