 San Francisco and Orlando CVB's
Name Richard Mazur to Head Joint Office in Chicago
 
CHICAGO, IL -- Richard R. Mazur has been named account executive in the Chicago based joint convention sales office of the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau and Orlando Convention & Visitors Bureau.

He will be responsible for serving all corporate and incentive accounts in Illinois and Wisconsin on behalf of both the San Francisco CVB and Orlando CVB.

He joins fellow national sales manager Ellyn Lambert in the office established last summer, located at 333 North Michigan Ave., Suite 2113, Chicago IL 60601.

"Richard brings eight years of expertise in key corporate and association markets in the mid-West region," said Doug Neilson, SFCVB vice president, convention division. "We look forward to adding his extensive contacts and award-winning sales experience to our innovative team."

Prior to joining the SFCVB-OCVB Chicago office, Mazur served eight years as National Account Manager for Westin Hotels & Resorts in Chicago. His experience in the hotel industry dates back to 1979.

Mazur received his masters degree in management from National Louis University in Evanston IL, where he also received his BA in applied behavioral science. He is a member of Meeting Professionals International, and teaches hotel sales and marketing at Roosevelt University in Illinois.

Besides sharing booths at convention industry trade shows, Lambert and Mazur will sell both San Francisco and Orlando to clients in the Chicago market.

In the city named the world's top destination by readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine, San Francisco's premier meeting and exhibition facility. Moscone Convention Center, offers 600,000 square feet of space within blocks of more than two-thirds of the City's 30,575 hotel rooms and within walking distance of a plethora of world-class restaurants, shopping areas, museums and special event facilities. The new staffer joins an award-winning sales force of eight full-time professionals in San Francisco and two in the Bureau's Washington, DC sales office.

Orlando has become one of the premier meetings and convention destinations in the world with more than 1.1 million square feet of exhibit space in the state-of-the-art Orange County Convention Center. In addition, area hotels offer more than one million square feet of space. The Orlando Convention & Visitors Bureau serves planners with 17 sales account executives who all hold PCMA meeting planner course certificates and have counterparts in the convention services area.
