COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 20, 1998 - Red Roof Inns, Inc. (NYSE: RRI)) announced the sale today of its Atlanta Airport Red Roof Inn to a franchisee, the Diplomat Hotel Corporation. The Inn is located in a prime location on the north side of the Atlanta Airport at the intersection of I-85 and Virginia Avenue. The newly constructed Inn has interior corridors, enhanced business king rooms with large corner desks, 25-inch televisions and data ports for computer hook-ups. The Inn also features an outdoor swimming pool and 194 guest rooms. Diplomat also operates a Red Roof Inns & Suites in Suwanee, Ga.
