Nitsuko America 384i Hotel / Motel Package
Receives Encore Certification

Shelton, CT - May 14, 1998 - Nitsuko Americas 384i telephone was certified by Encore Systems, Inc. (Atlanta, GA) for its Hotel/Motel feature package and Property Management System Integration (PMSi).  Encore is a major distributor of Property Management Systems (PMS) for the lodging industry. This certification places the 384i on Encores list of approved systems which may be installed with their PMS systems in both independent as well as chain hotels nationwide.

It was determined that the 384i will fully integrate with Encores PMS systems through a series of product tests and evaluations.Becoming certified with Encore is a major achievement for the 384i.  This accomplishment demonstrates that the 384i is positioned to replace some of the older systems still being used by the lodging industry, said Nitsuko America Product Manager Michael Pataky.

The 384i automates many of the daily functions of a hotel staff through integration with a hotels third-party PMS and Nitsuko Americas NVM-Series Voice Mail.  For example,  a hotel with a cohesive PMSi system will benefit at guest check-in or check-out.  As a front desk attendant checks a guest in, the NVM automatically activates a new guest voice mailbox as well as registers that extension as checked-in with the 384i telephone system.  Upon check-out, the guest voice mailbox is automatically cleared and the extension is registered as checked-out, allowing the hotels cleaning staff to ready the room for another guest.

Toll Restriction Conversion allows the PMS or supervisor to change the Toll Restriction status of any checked-in extension.  The Auto Room Scan feature automatically scans all extensions at 3:00 am and provides a report of all checked-in rooms and changes their status to housekeeping required.

The 384i telephone system is equipped with a built-in Hotel/Motel feature package. Either the guest or the hotel staff can enable and disable Do Not Disturb to block incoming calls to a rooms extension.  The front desk attendant can send a Message Waiting indication to a guests extension.  The hotel staff can program Room to Room Call Restriction to prevent guests from calling another guests extension.  For better management of room usage, a hotel staff member can change the Room Telephone Status of an extension to Room Available, Room Occupied or Room Ready to be Cleaned. Single Digit Dialing provides guest with one-touch access to hotel services such as room service, maintenance, etc.  Toll Restriction controls guests long distance calling after check-in.  A guest or front desk attendant can program an automated Wake Up Call announcement at a programmed time.

Nitsuko has been a designer and producer of telecommunications equipment since 1918 and has grown into a diversified corporation with sales in excess of $800 million worldwide.
