LodgeNet replaced another video services provider who had previously worked with Inter-Continental. The LodgeNet installation went smoothly and the system became fully operational in April.
LodgeNet currently serves Inter-Continental properties in New York,
Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, New Orleans and Montreal. "We are extremely
pleased to be expanding our relationship with the prestigious Inter-Continental
Hotel Company," said Tim C. Flynn, president and CEO of LodgeNet. "For
years weve proven our ability to serve the entire range of hotel segments
- from high-end hotels such as The Willard to the limited service sector
- with our scaleable b-LANSM systems. We appreciate this opportunity
to add to the number of Inter-Continental properties we serve, and we're
confident they'll find the LodgeNet system will meet their in-room entertainment
and information needs today and into the future."
The Willard, known as the residence of presidents, is one of Washingtons
most popular hotel destinations. Originally built in 1901, the current
hotel structure has undergone a variety of upgrades and improvements, and
was completely restored to its turn-of-the-century elegance in 1986.
Its enduring popularity can be credited to the hotel managements historic
dedication to upgrades, refurbishments and restorations that have been
critical in maintaining the superior quality of the Willards rooms, restaurants,
and guest services. The Willards new general manager, Jean-Jacques
Reibel, is continuing that history of improvements with upgrades such as
the LodgeNet Interactive Services.
