SDD Releases Newest Convention Billing Module
to its Popular Jazz Windows NT Call Accounting System
---

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA - May, 1998 - Systems Design & Development, Inc. ("SDD"), a privately held company specializing in telemanagement systems for the hotel industry recently released JAZZ Convention Telephone Billing its newest module for automatically posting and billing back equipment, service, and call usage charges to group accounts set up in the property management system. JAZZ Convention Billing replaces the manual processes previously required by hotels to process a convention services order for extensions and telecom equipment, generate a consolidated bill of group call usage and equipment charges, and then post the telecom charges to the appropriate accounts  in the property management system.

By implementing JAZZ Convention Billing,  hotels will be able to significantly increase their telephone revenues by charging for more services and by eliminating the risk of overbooking equipment and not accounting and billing for the total groups call usage.  Hotels will also see a significant decrease in labor costs and processing time to manage the setup and billing of  group telecom charges. Additional features to look for in JAZZ Convention Billing are its seamless integration with PMS Systems; simple-to-use windows for viewing and adding group information; tracking of call usage and equipment charges by event and group; automated posting of  group telecom charges to group, department, room and city ledger accounts in the PMS; on-line graphics showing equipment availability and reservations by group; maintaining inventory of serialized and unserialized equipment; tracking and managing equipment on order or equipment being repaired; and generated warnings of potential overbookings.

Like JAZZ Call Accounting, JAZZ Convention Billing incorporates the latest Windows NT, 32-bit client/server technology and boasts a simple-to-use graphical user interface. The module is also accessible by multiple persons on the network enabling convention services, telecom managers, and accounting personnel to all use the system and thereby stream-line the process by which groups are assigned and billed for call usage and equipment. JAZZ Convention Billing is currently being installed at the prestigious Boca Raton Resort and Club and will be installed at the Mirage Resort Properties, commencing in June of this year.

In addition to its JAZZ products, SDD develops and sells call accounting systems that operate and integrate with hotel systems directly on the IBM AS/400* computer.
