Nikko Hotels International Aligns With HotelView For Advanced Multimedia Internet Advertising

POMPANO BEACH, Fla., June 11, 1998 - Visual Data Corporation (Nasdaq: VDAT) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, HotelView Corporation, has formed a strategic alliance with Nikko Hotels International (NHI) to utilize HotelView(R) to advertise and promote NHI hotels and resorts via full-motion video over the Internet. The HotelView(R) product employs the latest media technology and multi-faceted distribution networks to help hotels and resorts promote their properties to the travel trade and consumers.

NHI operates 45 hotels and resorts worldwide. The chain is operated by JAL Hotels Company Limited, established in 1970 by Japan Airlines to provide luxury accommodations for travelers. HotelView produces a Web site enhancement that virtually brings potential guests inside the hotel for an in-depth property tour on narrated video. The aim of this new technology is to entice viewers with a visually stimulating presentation that encourages them to book their reservation instantaneously.

HotelView(R) combines Visual Data's innovative digital media technology and superior travel-related distribution network to promote and advertise hotels via sight/sound/motion at a fraction of the cost of traditional media. The video tour is accessed through the hotel's own Web site using either existing footage edited and translated into various languages, or new footage taped by HotelView, that the hotel's sales force can also use. Once the viewer selects the option to see the video, they are taken to the HotelView(R) site and returned back after the presentation without ever knowing that they had left the hotel's Web site and without seeing any other
competitor's video.

Each 2-4 minute video tour gives the viewer a detailed insider's look at the hotel with informative descriptions about the accommodations, meeting space, recreational outlets, area attractions, destination description and map.
