Ibertech Acquires System Design Group
for Back Office Solutions
HURST, TX, April 23, 1998 -  Ibertech, developers of Aloha point-of-sale, announced today that it has acquired System Design Group (SDG) to provide a comprehensive back office solution fully integrated with the award-winning suite of POS solutions. SDG has provided Fastech Software to the foodservice and hospitality industries for more than 14 years. Fastech Software's extensive product line includes a state-of-the-art suite of restaurant operation control tools, such as inventory, the 'Enterprise messenger," and a centralized inventory database manager, as well as a complete, unique set of customer information management tools, including delivery/carryout/ frequent buyer programs, accounts receivable, advance reservations, meal accountability, and gift certificate management. These features comprise a suite of real-time interface tools designed to complement the functionality of the powerful Aloha P0S solution, giving foodservice operators countless new ways to better market to patrons and reduce operational costs simultaneously.

"This is an outstanding development for System Design Group," said Larry 0' Connor, one of SDG's founders. "Partnering an established back office company like SDG with one of the most aggressive, agile, and rapidly growing companies in the P0S industry, Ibertech, creates an opportunity for us to pursue business as an intimate partner while still providing software to other manufacturers and their dealers."

"With this acquisition, Ibertech rounds out an already strong line of foodservice and hospitality solutions," said Allen Walker, Ibertech's chief operating officer. "With the market continuing to embrace open technology, large and small operators are increasingly searching for a total software solution that provides integrated front and back-of-house capabilities. Our current customers will be able to add the new complementary products to more effectively manage their businesses, and future customers will have the benefit of the entire package from the start."

O'Connor agreed that the acquisition will aid both current and future Aloha customers giving them access to a complete solution that covers restaurant operations from the front - of - house through the back office. "Ibertech customers will now have the opportunity not only to use the highest quality POS, but also the most comprehensive suite of management control and business growth tools available today. The goal of offering all products as a seamlessly integrated product means that Aloha customers will be able to take advantage of the most rapidly evolving POS system in the foodservice and hospitality industry."

The acquisition of SDG by Ibertech completes a partnership between two technologically superior companies. The similarities of industry advancements by both groups has made the acquisition a smooth one, said O'Connor. "The match is perfect in that the Ibertech team can continue to keep its collective eye on the pulse of POS, while the Fastech team can continue with in-depth back office integration, and some of the best engineers, support technicians, and sales professionals in the industry can combine strengths."
