ASTON - A 60 Year History

Background:

ASTON's beginnings are deeply rooted in local traditions. In 1948, Joseph and Annalie Tatibouet built and operated their first hotel in Waikiki. Today, under the leadership of their son, Andre S. Tatibouet, ASTON Hotels & Resorts offers a memorable vacation experience at a wide variety of quality hotels and condominium resorts on four Hawaiian islands.

Andre Tatibouet is no stranger to the hotel business. As a boy, his afternoon chores included helping with the upkeep of his family's 14-room hotel. At the age of 19, he developed his first hotel-a four-story "walk up" in Waikiki.

In 1968, Tatibouet founded the Hotel Corporation of the Pacific, Inc. with his parents' Royal Grove Hotel as its first managed property. Tatibouet's first major project was the 360-room Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki, which was completed in 1969. The company flourished, entering into its first large management contract in 1978 with the Island Colony Hotel.

In March 1986, with properties on all four major Hawaiian islands and in California, Tatibouet renamed the company ASTON Hotels & Resorts to reflect its expansion.

Today, ASTON Hotels & Resorts is Hawaii's largest condominium resort and hotel operator and has embarked on a major international expansion into Asia/Pacific.

The Aston Experience:

From affordable hotels to luxury condominium resorts, ASTON has traditionally represented a collection of properties that appealed primarily to leisure travelers. In recent years, ASTON has continued to diversify, offering services for both the individual business traveler and full-scale meetings and conventions. With properties ranging from economical to elegant, ASTON accommodates a cross-section of travel needs and budgets.
ASTON offers the most diverse selection of properties in Hawaii - truly something for everyone. From condominium resorts to its standard hotels; each blends comfortable island ambiance with the spirit of aloha.

Hotel vs. Condominium Resort

ASTON hotels provide comfortable accommodations to suit any budget. Centrally located, they are close to shops, restaurants, businesses and visitor attractions. Catering to the discriminating, service-oriented traveler, ASTON's intimate, boutique-style hotels and grand, full-service hotels feature elegant guest rooms and offer the best in personal service. ASTON's mid-range and affordable hotels are some of the most pocketbook-friendly in the islands.

ASTON is even better known for its excellent condominium resort values. And what's the easiest way to tell a hotel from a condominium? Space! Room to stretch out and relax in paradise. With the convenience of a fully-equipped kitchen and washer/dryers in most suites, plus hotel amenities such as daily maid service and front desk service, you're as close to "at home in Hawaii" as can be. It's the best of both worlds, perfect for families, couples, or those who simply want more than the traditional hotel experience.
