ATLANTA, GA (January 1998): Paul Jones, president of Hotel Partners International, has confirmed the sale of the Best Western Resort at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. The resort was sold by a private partnership to Sunrise Hotel Corporation for $6.685 million. Vice president Tom Ives of Hotel Partners' Atlanta office represented the seller in this transaction.
The Best Western Resort is located at 820 East Busch Boulevard in north central Tampa, between Interstates 275 and 75. The resort is near the entrance to Busch Gardens theme park and just southwest of the University of South Florida campus.
The 258-room resort includes four multi-story buildings constructed around an interior atrium. Facilities include approximately 15,420 square feet of meeting space, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, two whirlpools, fitness center, sauna and tennis courts.
