GLENEDEN BEACH, OREGON (January 8, 1998). -- For the second consecutive year, Condé Nast Traveler has honored Salishan Lodge with two prestigious industry awards. In its Tenth Annual Readers’ Choice Awards issue, the renowned Oregon Coast resort was selected by the magazine’s 37,000 readers as one of the “Top 30 North American Resorts”. In January 1998, the esteemed magazine included Salishan Lodge in its Fourth Annual Gold List, an honor formulated by thousands of reader interviews and the “news, notes, and comments” of Condé Nast Traveler’s contributing reporters.
In its November/December Best of Golf: 1987-1997 issue, Links Magazine honored Salishan Lodge by naming it one of “The 100 Best Golf Resorts in North America”. Reflecting the rugged, Scottish-links style, the 18-hole, par-72 course offers challenging play created in harmony with nature. Characterized by verdant, coastal vegetation; lush fairways; and the pounding waves of the Pacific, The Salishan Golf Links completed a 2.5 million-dollar renovation in the Spring of 1996 which added additional sod-faced bunkers and an 18-hole putting course.
Managed by Dolce International, the only global conference center management company, Salishan Lodge has just completed a multi-million-dollar renovation which reflects the beautiful imagery of the Oregon Coast and the rich Native American history of the region. The lobby, three restaurants, and the 10,000-bottle Wine Cellar and Tasting Room have been redesigned and expanded and all 205 guest rooms completely refurbished.
