HONOLULU, HAWAII -- To support its expansion into the Pacific, Outrigger Hotels & Resorts has created a new Internet web site located at www.pacificinfoweb.com. Outrigger's Pacific Infoweb focuses on those Pacific islands where it has hotels open or projects currently underway.

Pacific island destinations covered include Guam, Palau and the Marshall Islands. Tahiti, Bora Bora, Fiji and Australia will soon be added. The site features island facts, travel tips and maps, as well as details about the Outrigger resorts in each area and applicable rate offers. There is also a handy search engine and links to Outrigger's main Hawaii InfoWeb site (located at www.outrigger.com.)

According to Bryan Klum, Outrigger's corporate director of marketing and planning, "The Internet has become a popular research vehicle for travelers. Now people planning a trip to any one of Outrigger's Pacific island destinations can log onto our new web site and get a quick overview of the area as well as information on our resorts."

Outrigger has had a presence on the Internet since 1994 when it launched the Hawaii InfoWeb and became the first hotel company on the Internet to combine hotel information with a complete destination planning guide. This past August, the Hawaii InfoWeb site underwent a complete transformation with new graphics and features that included the company's new brand message ("There's an Outrigger Just for You"). According to Klum, initial response has been positive. "We experienced a 40% increase in the hit rate for the site. The greater convenience and utility offered by the redesigned site is apparently encouraging users to visit it more often and stay on-line longer," Klum said.

"We have every confidence that our Pacific InfoWeb will be just as successful since it shares the same look as the Hawaii InfoWeb and contains useful information for those people visiting the site," concluded Klum.
