Overseas Union Enterprise Ltd (OUE) which owns the 1,200-room Mandarin
Singapore. A Singapore-listed company, OUE is an associated company of
Overseas Union Bank (OUB), one of Singapore's four major banks.
With the internationally-renowned Mandarin Singapore as its flagship hotel, OUE embarked on a hotel development phase in the 1980s. It acquired the management contract for the Marina Mandarin and opened it in 1987. Between 1987 and 1997, the group grew from one to 13 hotels. The Group's newest additions are the Hainan Mandarin which soft-opened in Haikou in August 1997, making it the Group's third hotel, and the Meritus Westlake in Hanoi which opens in February 1998.
