 Denny’s - Atlanta Sports $3 Million Facelift

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 1, 1998) – Cypress Restaurants of Georgia boasts a new look and a new spirit in their Metro Atlanta Denny’s.  Pouring $3 million into their store renovations in four short months, Denny’s second largest franchisee has made good on its promise to restore America’s favorite full-service restaurant for the people of Atlanta.

The leading development-management company forged beyond the expansive redecorating of their Atlanta-area Denny’s.  A full-scale human resources effort resulted an expanded, invigorated and re-trained staff  throughout the Georgia market.

“We are delighted to be a part of the Atlanta community and to revitalize the ever-popular Denny’s brand,” said Larry Walker, president of Cypress Hotel Management. “From modernized ceilings and lighting to completely new seating, counters and carpeting, we’ve enhanced the comfortable dining atmosphere that has always made Denny’s a favorite.”

Cypress has initiated a multi-tiered plan to tell the story to the dining public.  Advertising campaigns and special events are blanketing Atlanta to spread the word of Denny’s transformation.  The campaign will build toward an exciting partnership with The Coca-Cola Company to break the Guinness record for the World’s Largest Ice Cream Float.  The event will take place April 3rd at the Denny’s Corporate Square location and will benefit Save the Children U.S. and its local programs.

Cypress Restaurants of Georgia, Inc., Cypress Restaurants, Inc. and Cypress Hotel Management Company form the bulk of Orlando-based Cypress Companies.  With over 20 Denny’s throughout Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama and another 20 from central to north Florida, Cypress has quickly captured the number two spot on the Denny’s franchisee marquee.
Cypress has enjoyed ten-fold growth in revenues over the past two years.  Launched in 1986, the Orlando-based restaurant and hotel management company initiated intensive growth in the mid ‘90’s.  In addition to Denny’s holdings, current Cypress restaurant properties include the upscale Heritage Grille in Orlando and St. Petersburg, Pizza Hut and Baskin Robbins franchises and plans to build five Houlihan’s restaurants along the Tampa-Naples corridor.

Florida hotels under management include Sheraton Orlando North in Maitland, Heritage Holiday Inn -- St. Petersburg, Riverfront Holiday Inn --Melbourne,  Days Inns in Brooksville and Tallahassee and Stadium Inn Suites in Kissimmee.  Cypress also recently acquired a Travelodge property in Valdosta, GA.
