Choice Atlantica Hotels Announces Plans for 12 Choice Atlantica Hotel in Argentina and Uruguay

FORT LAUDERDALE, January 5, 1998 – Choice Atlantica Hotels, Ltd., a subsidiary of Barrington International Hospitality based here, has announced plans for development of 12 Quality Hotels over a 10-year period in Buenos Aires and surrounding areas of Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay.  The hotels will be developed by Francisco Sabato of Grupo Desarrollo Argentina and will be franchised and managed by Choice Atlantica Hotels.

The properties will each feature approximately 120 rooms, state-of-the-art fitness centers and fully equipped business centers.  Each property will cost approximately $7.9 million to develop with the total estimated project cost at $95 million.

Choice Atlantica Hotels also has plans for a 126-suite Quality Suites Hotel in Fortaleza, Brazil, 240-unit Comfort Suites in Fortaleza and 80-room Comfort Inn in Lages, Brazil.   Additional projects will be announced within the next 60 days.

Barrington International Hospitality has offices in Fort Lauderdale, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.  Barrington subsidiary Choice Atlantica Hotels holds the master franchise agreement to develop Comfort Inns, Comfort Suites, Sleep Inns, Quality Inns, Quality Suites and Clarion Hotels throughout of South America.
