Choice Atlantica Hotels to Develop First Hotel
at Sao Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., January 13, 1998 Choice Atlantica Hotels Ltd., a subsidiary of Barrington International Hospitality, has joined with INPAR, a prominent Brazilian real estate company, to develop a R$25 million Quality Hotel at Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo.  The contract was awarded by INFRAERO, the Brazilian airport authority.  This is the first time INPAR has established a project partnership with an international hotel company.

Choice Atlantica will be the franchisor, assist in the design of the facility, provide technical service support for the full-service property and then manage it upon completion.

The Quality Hotel will be located within the boundaries of Brazils largest airport and will initially feature 400 guest rooms, a restaurant and lounge, business center, conference facilities for up to 500 people, fitness center and swimming pool. The hotel also will feature a unique airport lounge in the airport terminal where hotel guests can check in and relax in comfort before transferring to the hotel.  A second phase of the project increases the number of rooms to 650 and is planned at a later date.  Project planning is underway with a scheduled April 1998 groundbreaking and October 1999 completion.

Business travelers to Sao Paulo will enjoy the conveniences and amenities that they receive at other major airports around the world, said Barrington president and CEO Paul J. Sistare, CHA.  Since this is the largest airport in Brazil and located in what has become one of the worlds key business centers, we anticipate a strong positive response from international and domestic travelers.

Choice Atlantica Hotels holds the master franchise agreement to develop Comfort Inns, Comfort Suites, Sleep Inns, Quality Inns, Quality Suites and Clarions throughout South America.  The group presently has four hotels under development and has plans to develop 136 properties throughout South America in the next five years.
