WORLD TRAVEL MARKET, LONDON, November 17, 1997 -- WorldRes
Inc., the leading Internet-based lodging reservation provider,
has entered into a partnership with The Pembridge Group to provide online
hotel booking
capability to Pembridge's destination distribution outlets.
The Pembridge Group's technology provides partners such as area tourist
boards with a means to distribute destination information to consumers
through travel information centers, call centers, information kiosks and
Web sites. The alliance with WorldRes will allow these outlets to provide
consumers with real-time, confirmed reservations. The merging of these
two technologies creates a comprehensive way for destinations to
market themselves through several channels simultaneously.
"WorldRes is a perfect fit for The Pembridge Group," said Anna Pollock,
vice president of marketing & sales. "Instead of spending time and
money creating our own interface for Internet-based lodging reservations,
we
found WorldRes' system complements our existing technology and is easy
to implement. Through this alliance, we are able to offer our destination
clients and their industry members a flexible range of options to meet
their needs and circumstances."
"Our partnership with The Pembridge Group provides destinations with a complete solution, from marketing to information management to reservations," said Scott Potter, WorldRes' vice president of business development. "The alliance can be adapted to work with any destination marketing product, anywhere in the world."
The Pembridge Group Limited, a UK-based company founded in 1997, provides a range of front and back office software solutions to destination marketing organizations that enables them to both distribute product information and complete reservations. The Pembridge Group software enables small accommodation providers to update their pricing and availability using the touch-tone phone as an input device. The alliance with WorldRes will enable accommodation providers with Internet access to use the Web to link to destination distribution outlets as well as other WorldRes partner travel sites.
WorldRes, Inc. (www.worldres.com), founded in 1995, provides Internet
sales and marketing services to over 1,200 properties worldwide, as well
as online hotel booking capability to travel and destination Web sites.
Other WorldRes partner sites include SABRE's Travelocity, NetChannel,
Fujitsu's WildBird site in Japan and the State of California Division of
Tourism.
