Destination Florida Selects WorldRes for Internet Reservations
SAN MATEO, CA, August 25, 1997 - Destination Florida (TM), the state's popular online travel guide, today appointed WorldRes, Inc.(TM) to provide real-time hotel booking capability on its Web site (www.goflorida.com, or keyword: Florida on America Online). The agreement gives all participating Florida hotels the option to take real-time reservations directly from the Destination Florida site, including those properties currently not represented on travel agent reservation systems.
WorldRes, the developer and operator of a leading Internet-based reservation system that brings advanced sales and marketing capability to hotels on the World Wide Web, will be working with Destination Florida to enroll its new and existing properties in the WorldRes system. Once enrolled, properties will be directly bookable on Destination Florida through WorldRes.
"Through WorldRes, we can now offer all of Destination Florida's properties the chance to receive low-cost reservations via the Internet," said Diane Politi, director of sales for Destination Florida. "This provides both our hotel customers and online consumers even greater value on our site."
Participating properties will also receive a free bookable listing on Places To Stay (TM), (www.placestostay.com), WorldRes' own hotel reservation Web site, and the ability to conduct one-to-one marketing campaigns via e-mail through the WorldRes system at no cost.
"This partnership with one of the most successful online travel sites is a strong endorsement of our Internet technology and demonstrates that our booking solution is easily adapted to any travel Web site," said Scott Potter, vice president of Business Development for WorldRes. "We are continuing to build our network of Web site partners in order to generate online revenue for our hotel customers."
