Bloomington, Minnesota - November 12, 1997, - CSM Lodging, L.L.C., an affiliate of CSM Corporation, announced today that construction has begun, on a 204-room Courtyard by Marriott, and a 128-room Residence Inn by Marriott in Bloomington, Minnesota. The properties will be located next to each other on the former Eddie Webster site, approximately one mile West of the Mall of America at Interstate 494 and 12th Street. It is the largest hotel complex built in Bloomington since 1988.
The Courtyard by Marriott will offer rooms that boast both a sitting area and a large work desk. In addition, the Courtyard will feature meeting rooms designed to accommodate small to medium sized groups. Amenities include an indoor pool and whirlpool, an exercise room, and a full service restaurant. The Courtyard is designed to accommodate business travelers looking for moderately priced accommodations with a location that is close to the airport, as well as offering convenient access to Minneapolis, St. Paul or any of the southern suburbs. The Courtyard is also a great place for leisure travelers in town visiting the Mall of America or other area attractions.
The Residence Inn by Marriott will offer 128 rooms and suites ranging from spacious studio rooms to one and two bedroom suites. All of the rooms at the Residence Inn will come complete with a fully equipped kitchen and living room area. Many of the rooms will also feature fireplaces in the living room area. Additional amenities include complimentary continental breakfast, an exercise room, and an indoor pool and whirlpool. The Residence Inn is designed to provide a "homet1 like setting for the business traveler or leisure traveler staying for a few days or a few months.

Working with a locally based General Contractor, Frerich's Construction, CSM Lodging plans to open both hotels in May, 1998. CSM Lodging, a division of CSM Corporation, owns and operates Country Inn in Woodbury and Fairfield Suites by Marriott in Eagan. CSM Lodging is currently developing 25 additional hotels across the United States, including three additional sites under construction in the Twin Cities Metro Area.
