Fact Sheet
The multi-faceted complex -- both a destination resort and a successful private club -- follows a simple theory to maintain its standards of excellence. The more popular the resort, the more wear and tear it receives from daily use; as a result, maintenance and renovation projects must be an on-going process in response to guests' usage and their evolving need and desires. This "renovations never rest" philosophy has been at the heart of the Resort and Club's capital improvements program for over ten years.

Since 1990, the Boca Raton Resort & Club has spent $10 million annually on maintenance and property upgrades. This includes a five-year cycle during which each of Boca' 5 963 guestrooms is renovated. Over the past five years, the Resort and Club has also updated public areas, lounges, restaurants and public restrooms, as well as many of its recreational facilities including the golf courses and tennis courts.

Capital Investment Plan - 1995 and Beyond

The long-range business plan for the Boca Raton Resort & Club is to invest over $60 million in capital improvements; this is in addition to the annual $10 million already spent on maintenance and property upgrades. This plan includes the construction of a new and larger convention center and related facilities, improved club facilities, an additional signature golf course, the addition of spa facilities, a new activities center, additional retail shops and restaurants, and a larger, more luxurious motor yacht to shuttle between the main hotel and Beach Club.

Re-Cap: Capital Investments 1990-94

Renovations to the Presidential Suite top the list of improvements to the guest rooms at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. The suite's bathroom has been redesigned to include a Jacuzzi and marble fixtures. The second floor of the suite has been furnished with state-of-the-art exercise equipment including a stair climber, stationary bicycle and rowing machine. A business office, equipped with a facsimile machine, personal computer and a laser printer, has also been added. In addition, this two-story, four-bedroom unit includes a permanent bar.

Every guest room in the Resort and Club has been refurbished. Each of the 338 rooms in the Cloister have been updated with new bathrooms and well-appointed furnishings. A 48-room concierge level, the Palm Court Club, was created. The Tower's 242 guest rooms and suites have been upgraded to include new carpet, new furniture and contemporary marble tiled bathrooms. The 120-room Golf Villas have been renovated and refurnished, as well as the 214 rooms in the Boca Beach Club which were reconstructed, including new marble bathrooms and fixtures, as well as larger guest quarters. Soundproofing was installed between all connecting doors in the Cloister.

To its array of well-appointed, flexible conference rooms, the Boca Raton Resort & Club has added the Galleon room. This new, 5,200 square-foot meeting room has a 20-foot ceiling and can be separated into two venues. The Resort also restructured and updated the Valencia, a 2,938 square-feet ballroom, with new carpets, wall covering, lighting and audio visual capabilities.

In addition, Boca has recently updated the decor and equipment throughout its existing Convention Center. The Great Hall, a 14,000 square-foot ballroom, also received a facelift, complete with new carpeting and furnishings.

Top of the Tower - The Italian Restaurant underwent a $1.5 million renovation and opened in December of 1991. Reminiscent of a Southern Italian villa, the restaurant is located on the 27th floor of the Tower and offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, intracoastal waterway and South Florida skyline. The restaurant is operated by Nick Nickolas, who also operates Nick's Fishmarket at the Resort's Beach Club.

As well, the El Lago Bar and Terrace opened in December of 1991 and features patio seating and an interior lounge. This lovely garden terrace area overlooks the Intracoastal waterway.

In 1993, the Resort and Club opened the Lobby Espresso, an indoor/outdoor coffee bar featuring the finest blend of straight and flavored coffees, as well as delicious pastries. The Patio Dining Room also underwent refurbishment, repainting, furniture reupholstering and new carpeting.

The newly-designed Cloister Fitness Center was completed in November, 1991. Its facilities feature a variety of cardiovascular equipment such as the Stair Master stair climbers, Lifecycle electronic bicycles, one-on-one training, an exercise studio featuring classes such as low-impact, step aerobics and body toning. A television and VCR for private or group video classes are also available.

The Beach Club Fitness Center, which features much of the same equipment available in the Cloister, has been revamped to include an aerobic workout area for individual classes and personal one-on-one training.

In total, the Resort and Club now offers three separate workout centers for guests' convenience.

In addition to the recently redesigned golf course at the main Resort, the 18-hole championship golf course at the Boca Country Club has been completely renovated. Designed by Joe Lee, world-renowned golf course architect and designer, the course provides golfers with a challenging but rewarding experience. Five new tennis courts have also been added to the Country Club, bringing its total to twelve.

In 1992, the Boca Raton Resort & Club entered into a new phase of resort and club marketing with the introduction of its unique merchandising line. Later that year, the Boca Logo shop opened in the Cloister lobby. Capitalizing on the proven salability of the Resort and Club's logo and crest, the Logo Shop offers the most comprehensive logo assortment in the industry. Its merchandise is tailored to the varied taste levels of the seasonal guests, convention attendees and members.

Additionally in 1992, the Boca Boca shop opened at the Beach Club. This exclusive boutique features men's and ladies' resort sportswear in lightweight fabrics catering to a designer, fashion -conscious clientele.

To complement the physical renovations mentioned above, the Resort and Club has further enhanced its broad array of personal services for guests. New services include a comprehensive Activities Department: an expanded Boca Family Fun Program featuring children's programs tailored to each of four distinct age groups, the installation of two-line phones, guest name displays, a voice mail and messaging system for guests, the Concierge International program serving each of our international guests, personal wake-up calls from operators with a human "snooze" alarm providing a call back within fifteen minutes, and fax and package delivery service.
