HONOLULU (Oct.24, 199~Aston Hotels & Resorts has appointed Harold A. Rapoza, Sr., to the new position of area vice president for Waikiki condominiums; he has also been named general manager of Aston Waikiki Sunset.
As area vice president, Rapoza oversees the management of Aston's condominium operations in Waikiki, serving as a liaison between Aston's corporate office in Honolulu, general managers and the unit owners at each property.
At the 435-room Aston Waikiki Sunset, Rapoza brings extensive condominium resort management experience to his position as general manager. He replaces Glenn Nakamura, who has relocated to the Philippines to serve as general manager at the new Aston Country Resort.
"Harold is a widely recognized talent in the condominium resort management field," Gary Ettinger, vice president of operations, said. "We are excited to put his talents to work at the Aston Waikiki Sunset, as well as for all of our Waikiki condominium resorts. Prior to joining Aston, Rapoza served as director of operations for The Castle Group, Inc. for three years. In addition, he spent nine years with Colony Hotels & Resorts, serving as director of owner services, director of operations/Hawaii and director of operations/general manager/Maui.
His cominitment to the hospitality industry and the community includes having served as a past member of the Hawaii Hotel Association, Hawaii Visitors Bureau, the American Residential Development Association and the Community Association Institute. Rapoza studied business administration at the University of Hawaii-Hilo.
