Meetings Focus Live! Cleans the World!

Meetings Focus's Las Vegas hosted buyer program participants join with Geoteaming
and CleantheWorld.org to donate sanitary supplies to the needy

LAS VEGAS - May 16, 2013 - Attendees of Meetings Focus Live!, a hosted buyer educational event pairing meeting planners with suppliers, teamed up at the Tropicana Las Vegas to package and donate key hygiene supplies to needy recipients in the city.

“Besides providing a fun, interactive team-building activity during our Meetings Focus Live! Las Vegas event, the meeting planners, suppliers and community members who participated made a difference in the lives of many of the needy in the Las Vegas area,” said Tyler Davidson, chief content director of Meetings Focus. “Corporate social responsibility is a rapidly growing trend in the meetings, conventions and events industry, and we are particularly proud of the effort our attendees provided during the Las Vegas conference, as well as at the previous Meetings Focus Live! programs we have done. It sets a positive tone that reverberates both through the individual events and the communities we meet in.”

Highlights of the GeoClean charitable effort, facilitated by Seattle-based team-building company Geoteaming and its CEO, John Chen, included the following:
  • The Meetings Focus Live! team, which numbered approximately 40 participants, and which was joined by officers and volunteers from the Las Vegas Homeless Division, constructed 80 Hygiene Kits, each containing nine items.
  • The effort resulted in approximately 800 kits, with a total value of approximately $2,400, being donated to Las Vegas-area homeless.
Entering its third year, Meetings Focus Live! is a two to three-day hosted buyer program that features educational sessions, site inspections of meeting facilities, networking events and one-on-one appointments matching meeting planners with meeting supplier companies such as hotels, conference centers, convention centers and destination marketing organizations.

Besides Las Vegas, the 2013 edition of Meetings Focus Live! travels to Biloxi, Miss.; Los Angeles; Branson, Mo.; Portland, Ore.; Miramar Beach, Fla.; Hershey, Pa; and the Big Island of Hawaii. More information can be found at www.MeetingsFocus.com/LiveEvents.
