for the 1,504-room Fontainebleau Miami Beach in Florida

Miami Beach, Fla. (May 24, 2013) – Fontainebleau, the iconic Miami Beach resort revered as a symbol of style and sophistication, today announced the promotions of Louis Gonzalez and Jackie Payano to new posts as Assistant Directors of Group Sales.  In their new roles, Gonzalez and Payano will mentor and shape the sales team to develop new accounts, grow market share and oversee management of key accounts while maximizing occupancy and the average daily rate of the hotel.

A 25-year industry veteran, Gonzalez began his career in banquet and convention services. He then served as Director of National Accounts at Boca Raton Resort and as Senior Sales Manager at Marriott International’s Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami. Most recently, Gonzalez was a Director of National Accounts at Fontainebleau.

“Louis has been a key revenue contributor for the past four years and has used his exceptional sales skills to grow our business in the northeast, one of our most demanding markets,” said Scott Flexman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Fontainebleau Miami Beach.  “Louis will take these skills into his sales leadership role and we’re confident his sales and leadership ability will help our positive sales trends continue.”

Over her 15 years in hospitality industry, Payano has held numerous sales roles, most recently as a Director of National Accounts at Fontainebleau. Previously she served as National Sales Manager at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fla.  She began her career with Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, climbing the ranks from front desk agent to Sales Manager at the Sheraton in Edison, N.J., and later opening the Sheraton in Overland Park, Kan.

“Jackie has been one of our top producing Directors of National Accounts over the past six years,” said Flexman. “Her outstanding sales and technology knowledge will continue to benefit our sales team and we’re positive her leadership ability and excellent sales skills will keep our team’s productivity moving upward.”
