April 23, 2013 (Istanbul, Turkey) - Marti Istanbul Hotel is pleased to announce the appointment of Yelda Taluk Ülker as Assistant General Manager, Sales & Marketing. An entrepreneurial sales professional with more than two decades of management experience, Ülker works to increase bookings at the elegant address in the Taksim district of Istanbul. Her responsibilities include creating and implementing innovative strategies for heightening revenues, as well as training and inspiring the hotel's sales and marketing team to develop new channels and meet daily objectives.

Ülker joined Marti Istanbul Hotel from Rixos Grand Ankara where she was Director of Sales and Marketing for the past two years. Previously she spent two years as Business Development Manager at the Istanbul Museum of Art where she planned, led and coordinated operational activities at the highest levels of management, directed museum fundraising efforts, and prepared exhibition presentations in line with budgetary considerations. She also enjoyed a five-year run at Ciragan Palace Hotel Kempinski in Istanbul, joining as Senior Sales Manager in 2000 and departing as Director of Corporate Sales in 2007. Ülker got her start in the travel industry as a security agent with Delta Airlines in 1989.

Born and raised in Adana, Turkey, Ülker studied Arabic literature and language at the University of Istanbul. She is fluent in Turkish and English and can communicate comfortably in Greek and Arabic. In her spare time, Ülker enjoys sailing and scuba diving. She resides in Istanbul with her husband and son.
