April 10, 2013--MANAMA -- Rotana, a leading regional hotel manager, is optimistic about Bahrain's hospitality industry, having launched its maiden property in the kingdom and with two more in the pipeline.

"The Majestic Arjaan by Rotana, built at an investment of BD22 million ($58m), opened its doors to guests on March 13 and has seen nearly 90 per cent average occupancy," Rotana executive vice-president and chief operating officer Omer Kaddouri told a Press conference held at the hotel yesterday.

"Our next project is a multi-million dinar five-star property coming up in the Bab Al Bahrain area.

"The construction is nearly complete and the interiors are being designed. We expect to open it in 2014.

"Currently about 20pc of our employees are Bahraini and we intend to take this much higher through or Doroub programme which encourages locals to work in the hospitality industry," Mr Kaddouri said.

"Keeping in mind the local regulations and sensitivities, the hotel is 'dry'," Mr Kaddouri added.

Located in Busaiteen district on the island of Muharraq, the Majestic Arjaan offers 128 suites consisting of studios, one, two and three bedrooms developed as duplexes.

The hotel will increase Rotana's inventory to more than 12,620 rooms in the region.

With this hotel, Rotana now operates its 11th property under the 'Arjaan Hotel Apartments by Rotana' brand.

"This is a major milestone in our strategy to expand further in the Middle East and Africa region," Majestic Arjaan by Rotana general manager Riaz Saban said.

"This is our first property in Bahrain, a fascinating country with an attractive liberal lifestyle, a rich history and culture, with a strong demand for luxury hotels that offer world-class hospitality.

"The diverse features in this property offer numerous benefits and advantages for short or long term stays, whether for business, leisure or home relocation."

"The hotel features fully-equipped meeting rooms with leisure facilities that include an outdoor temperature controlled swimming pool, a fully-fledged fitness centre, with steam and sauna rooms.

"It has three specialised food and beverage venues, which include -- Ginger All Day Dining -- offering international buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a la carte, Ginger Lounge -- a lobby cafe and Aquarius -- a casual dining experience by the pool.

"In Arabic, the word 'Arjaan' talks of a place which provides a memorable experience, like the aroma of a scented bloom, an inspiring space that offers that delicate balance of personal and professional service," Mr Saban added.
