Catherine Johns Welcomed as Director of Catering and Convention Services
for the 1,230-key
Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa in Hawaii
 
Honolulu, Hawaii (April 8, 2013)Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Johns as the new Director of Catering and Convention Services at the resort. Johns joins the team of seasoned professionals at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach with five years of experience with the Hyatt brand. In addition, Johns brings an extensive hospitality background to the resort, with over 10 years of expertise in off-site special events and catering.

A graduate of The University of Michigan, Johns began her hospitality career at MF Productions, an events production firm in New York specializing in creative projects for arts, non-profit and philanthropic organizations. Prior to joining the Hyatt brand, Catherine held various catering and events positions throughout Washington D.C. and Virginia, until joining the Park Hyatt Washington in 2008 as Director of Catering. In 2010 Johns joined the Andaz 5th Avenue team, where she played a critical role in the launch of the hotel, the second Andaz property in New York. In January 2013 Catherine relocated to Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach, where she now serves as the Director of Catering and Convention Services.

“My experience in New York launching Andaz 5th Avenue from conception to inception has given me a fresh perspective on catering and events,” said Johns. “I am eager to bring my various experiences in fast-paced and challenging environments to the team at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach.”
