California's Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina Completes
$2 Million Redesign of its 348 Bay Tower Guest Rooms

SAN DIEGO, Ca. (March 15, 2013) — The waterfront Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, the largest green hotel in Southern California and the only full service hotel in the nation with a Gold Level Green Seal status, has completed a $2 million soft goods refresh to all 348 guest rooms in the hotel’s Bay Tower.

The project, which began in November 2012, included guest room updates ranging from new carpet, furniture re-upholstery, new task chairs, UV window treatments and bathroom refreshes of new bathtubs, fixtures and wall covering. Hallway carpeting, lighting and wall covers throughout the Bay Tower were also redone. Inline with the hotel’s signature nautical design, guest rooms and public spaces now feature neutral tones with red and blue accents.

“With the completion of the Bay Tower upgrades, and plans for more hotel improvements to be completed later this year, we’re eager to share the new rooms and spaces with leisure or business guests who have long enjoyed the Bay Tower’s one-of-a-kind views and the new look and feel of the Marina Tower spaces that were re-designed a few years ago,” said Scott Hermes, General Manager of the Sheraton San Diego.

The outdoor Bay Tower Lounge Patio was also revitalized during the three-month project to better highlight the hotel’s views of San Diego Bay, downtown San Diego and Point Loma. A “We Proudly Brew” Starbucks coffee kiosk was added adjacent to the hotel lobby and renovation plans for the Bay Tower’s main dining room are being scheduled for later in 2013.

“We also upgraded the Bay Tower fitness center, which doubled in size, and introduced Sheraton Fitness by Core Performance, which has proved to be quite popular with our current guests,” said Hermes. “We’re looking forward the additional changes and upgrades taking place this year and we know our valued guests will feel the same.”
