News for the Hospitality Executive
Danvers, Mass. — March 12, 2013 — Coming on the heels of a complete redesign and renovation, the Holiday Inn & Suites – Atlanta Airport North installed Roam Boost from RoamingAround, a solution that provides voice and data signal coverage in areas of the hotel that would otherwise suffer mobile phone dead spots. The in-building cellular solution is not only making the 330-room hotel a premier place to stay for travelers visiting Atlanta, but it is greatly increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Roam Boost delivers strong mobile phone signal coverage by amplifying the local geography’s coverage, ensuring that all mobile calls, data transactions and communications are conducted quickly and securely. Because cellular technology is a critical communications method for business, travel, and hospitality, RoamingAround provides the products and services required by today's hoteliers to address the most complex mobile communication and transaction challenges.
“It is very common in the hospitality industry to have dead spots in the hotel where a weak or no mobile signal is available," said Holiday Inn & Suites – Atlanta Airport North Asset Manager Ted Mouzakeotis. "This is one of the top complaints by guests. Therefore, after learning of the successful solution implemented at the Holiday Inn – Duluth (Ga.), we reached out to RoamingAround for help.
"By adding Roam Boost to specifically-targeted areas of the hotel, our guests began receiving clear, problem-free calls," Mouzakeotis said. "Missed calls quickly became nonexistent. It doesn't matter what type of cellular device (phone, tablet or laptop) a guest has or the phone carrier or network being used; Roam Boost increases coverage across the board. The equipment is low voltage, energy efficient, highly secure and easily affordable for any hotel. Better yet, it's scalable, enabling us to place the boosters in areas where we needed it most and allowing us to increase the signal with more units if needed in the future. We couldn't be happier with Roam Boost and the RoamingAround service, and our guests share in that sentiment."
Selecting Service Coverage Areas
To make the Holiday Inn & Suites – Atlanta Airport North more mobile compatible, it required a donor antenna, mounted on the roof, and six nodes set up throughout the hotel to give thorough coverage in the entrances, lobby, restaurant, bar, all meeting room areas and executive offices. With the initial service installed and working successfully, the hotel is now considering adding Roam Boost in other areas of the building as well.
"We are delighted with the result the hotel has achieved for its guests with Roam Boost," said Michael Garvin, RoamingAround President. "This hotel underwent a complete property redesign, giving it a modern style, chic design, and a technologically advanced atmosphere. What it lacked was sufficient mobile coverage to meet guest demands. Today, Roam Boost is ensuring that the hotel's guests can fully enjoy their stay without having to worry about their mobile device’s reception."
