Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Appoints Brett Orlando as
Regional Director of Operations
for the Brand’s Three South Florida Hotels

MIAMI – March 19, 2013
– Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is pleased to announce the appointment of Brett Orlando as the new regional director of operations for the brand’s three South Florida hotels.

With more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Orlando will now oversee the day-to-day operations of the 411-room EPIC in downtown Miami, 186-room Surfcomber Miami, South Beach, and 113-room Vero Beach Hotel & Spa. The promotion comes shortly after Orlando returned to Kimpton in October 2012 as EPIC’s general manager.

“Brett’s proven leadership skills, openness and accessibility to the entire staff, and engaging wit quickly endeared him to the South Florida-based Kimpton team,” said Eric Jellson, Kimpton’s Area Director of Sales & Marketing. “In a few short months, his passion for doing the right thing for the right reasons at the right time has led to immediate successes. Team spirit and the application of Kimpton values in what we do have flourished under his direction and guidance. As regional director of operations, I’m confident our Florida hotels will benefit from his high energy and motivational leadership style.”

Previous to his role as general manager at EPIC, Orlando served as the general manager at Kimpton’s Palomar in Washington, D.C. Before joining the Kimpton family, Orlando served in a number of industry posts ranging from managing director to vice president of operations at a variety of properties, including boutique hotels and high-end luxury resorts. Most recently, he served as regional director of Florida for Equinox Fitness, where he was instrumental in the strategic planning, operations and development, while regularly increasing revenue and promoting customer service. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Orlando studied at Johnson and Wales University.
