Portland, Oregon's 150-room Heathman Hotel Hires
Nathan Carlson as Senior Sales Manager

Portland, Ore. – (Jan. 17, 2013) – The historic Heathman Hotel , Portland’s premier full-service luxury hotel, has hired Nathan Carlson as senior sales manager. Carlson’s responsibilities will include managing existing client relationships, identifying potential new clients and closing sales, and negotiating rates and amenities with corporate and association clients.

“Nathan is a results-oriented salesperson with more than 20 years of leadership experience,” said Stephen Galvan, the Heathman’s director of sales and marketing. “He is gifted at quickly building rapport with people and understanding their needs and how to meet them. We’ve been impressed by his integrity, persistence and creativity, and we welcome him to the Heathman team.”

Carlson joins the Heathman Hotel from Portland’s Benson Hotel, where he was a preferred corporate / sports teams sales manager. He was previously sales manager at Red Lion on the River, also in Portland. Prior to joining the hospitality industry, he worked in retail and insurance sales.

Carlson received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Augsburg College in Minneapolis and a Master of Divinity degree from Western Seminary in Portland.
