News for the Hospitality Executive |
ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 28, 2013 –
Hospitality technology company Intelity is a
sponsor for the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament for the
second
consecutive year. Part of the Professional Golfers Association (PGA)
tour, the
tournament has been a “Charitable Classic” since 1937 when it was
founded by
entertainer Bing Crosby. This year’s event will be Feb. 4 - 10 in
Pebble Beach,
California. “It’s exciting to be involved in this tournament for another year,” said David Adelson, Intelity CEO and president. “This year, we’re one of only two sponsors in the travel industry. It’s an amazing opportunity, and we’re proud to be able to take part in this charitable event.” Intelity will invite hoteliers to view the last four days of the tournament, which will take place at three different courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course. The tournament consists of an individual professional and a pro-amateur team competition. The latter sees professional players paired with amateurs. Celebrity participants slated to play this year include Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and actor/comedian Ray Romano. Also in attendance will be actor Bill Murray and golfer D.A. Points, who were partners in 2011 when they secured the championship. Golfer Phil Mickelson took home the win in 2012. He’s now one of only ten players with 40 wins in PGA Tour history. All proceeds will benefit charity. More than $100 million have been donated since the tournament’s premiere. For more information on Intelity, visit www.intelitycorp.com. Intelity,
