Bunkhouse Names Bobby Johns as Operations Manager, Meghan Hughes as Hotel
Austin, Texas) January 18, 2013 — Kevin Osterhaus, Bunkhouse Vice President of Operations, announced the following promotions today: Bobby Johns promoted to Operations Manager for Bunkhouse, Meghan Hughes promoted to General Manager of the Hotel San Jose and Heather Seiter promoted to HR Manager for Bunkhouse.

Johns comes to the position of Operations Manager at Bunkhouse with much prior experience at the company. Since 2006, he has overseen operations at the Hotel San Jose and Hotel Saint Cecilia while also providing a broader focus on culture and standards throughout all Bunkhouse operations. Previously, Johns worked for 15 years at Whole Foods in store operations and guest services management. He is also co-owner of iconic Austin businesses Stag Provisions for Men and Mercury Design Studio, and is a co-founder of a local pride organization named Queerbomb.
Hughes comes to the position of General Manager at the Hotel San Jose with much prior experience at the hotel. She started working at the hotel in 2005 as Front Desk Agent and was then promoted to Group Coordinator, Guest Relations Manager, and Assistant General Manager. In addition to her responsibilities at the Hotel San Jose, Hughes was also instrumental role in implementing Bunkhouse training and standards across properties. Hughes’ passion for service and dedication to community extend beyond her role at Bunkhouse. She is a Big Sister in the Austin Big Brothers & Big Sisters and acting Committee Director for the Young Professionals for People’s Community Clinic organization.
Seiter comes to the position of HR Manager at Bunkhouse with much prior experience at the company, which began in 2004 when she started as a Front Desk Agent at the Hotel San Jose. She served in various roles at the Hotel San Jose from 2004 to 2008 including Group Coordinator, Assistant Manager and Office Manager before moving into her role as Business Systems Administrator at Bunkhouse in 2006. In 2011, she earned her PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification and has kept abreast of the massive regulatory and employment law changes that routinely affect the hospitality industry. Seiter brings to her new role at Bunkhouse 12 years of combined prior hospitality and F&B experience having previously worked at Steven F. Austin Intercontinental, Sheraton, and several Austin restaurants.
