Jim Curtis Returns to the 998-room Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa
in Hollywood, Florida as Director of Sales & Marketing
 
HOLLYWOOD, FL – Feb. 11, 2013 – After three years overseeing sales and marketing efforts for Starwood Caribbean, Jim Curtis has returned to The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa to take on the role of director of sales & marketing for the second time. With over 26 years of hospitality experience including 21 years with Starwood, Curtis will be responsible for continuing to drive occupancy at the Hollywood, FL resort by targeting groups of all sizes.

The 998-room, beachfront property is ideally located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami and nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway. The resort is connected by a pedestrian skywalk to a state-of-the-art 209,000-square-foot convention center with a 50,000 square foot unobstructed great hall, four ballrooms and 39 breakout rooms. Additional resort amenities include award-winning restaurants, watersports and two marinas, an 18-hole championship golf course managed by Troon Golf®, a 10-clay court Tennis Center, a 30,000-square-foot full-service spa and an additional 14,000-square-foot Heavenly Spa by Westin™ set to open in April 2013.

In his previous role, Curtis also managed sales and marketing for The Westin St. John Resort & Villas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Earlier in his career, he held the same title at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort in Phoenix as well as at Sheraton hotels in Tuscon and Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. Curtis began his Starwood career in 1991 at the Sheraton New Orleans.
